Don't miss the party!
Saturday I dropped in at Becker's Books in hopes of snagging a book signing at this treasure of a book store. Little did I know that I was about to have a fantastic visit with one of the owners, Ann Becker.
If you're unfamiliar with Becker's Books, it is a used and rare bookstore. It is located in an old house in Spring Branch and rather unassuming if you pass by on the street. Once you enter, you realize that this isn't just a bookstore. It's a book museum. Stacked ceiling to floor with books, you walk through what almost feel like a maze. With 500K antique, rare books in stock, this is a Houston attraction not to be missed. I could write much more, but I hope my description helps you realize what a gem this is.
After my hour long visit with Ann, I left Becker's Books with gratitude. She decided to graciously host a Houston Book Launch Party for me, since my first launch party was in Katy and not within comfortable driving distance for everyone in the area. Dan Becker, Ann's husband, bakes cakes and sweets for these parties, and Ann makes sure that everyone who likes wine will not leave without having a glass.
I encourage you to come, even if you went to my first launch party and/or already have a book. The book store itself is an experience on its own. To attend an event here will make it all the more exciting. So mark it on your calendar! March 25th from 5 - 7 PM - stragglers are welcome.
Have you been to Becker's Books? Are you intrigued, if not?
